"DEIN TUN sei wie ein Nicht-Tun, dein Verrichten Wie Nicht-Verrichten, und wie ein Verzichten Sei dein Genießen! - Laß dein Großes klein Und laß dein Vieles wenig nur dir sein! Auch Feinde schließe in dein Wohltun ein! Faß an das Schwere, wo's ein Leichtes ist, Und tu das Große, wo 's ein Kleines ist! So ist es in der Welt mit allen Dingen: Das Schwere muß aus Leichtem stets entspringen, Das Große aus der Wurzel des Geringen. Weil nie der Weise auf das Große sinnt, Kann er in seiner Größe sich vollenden. Wer leichthin zusagt, wird, was er beginnt, Nur selten und mit Schwierigkeit beenden, Wer alles leichtnimmt, Zeit und Kraft verschwenden. Drum nimmt der Weise niemals etwas leicht, Und weil er Schweres weiß zu überwinden Da, wo es noch ein Leichtes ist, erreicht Er Schwerstes, ohne Schwierigkeit zu finden."

"Act without acting; Serve without concern for affairs; Find flavor in what has no flavor. Regard the small as large and the few as many, And repay resentment with kindness. Plan for the difficult while it is easy; Act on the large while it's minute. The most difficult things in the world begin as things that are easy; The largest things in the world arise from the minute. Therefore the Sage, to the end does not strive to do the great, And as a result, he is able to accomplish the great; Those who too lightly agree will necessarily be trusted by few; And those who regard many things as easy will necessarily [end up] with many difficulties. Therefore, even the Sage regards things as difficult, And as a result, in the end he has no difficulty."

Замышляя трудное, будь в его легком. Осуществляя большое, будь в его тонком. В Поднебесной трудные дела обязательно складываются из легких. В Поднебесной большие дела обязательно складываются из мелочей. Это дает: Человек мудрости заканчивает, не осуществляя большого. Причинность: Может совершить это большое. Ведь, легко обещая, уменьшаешь веру. Умножая легкое, обязательно умножаешь трудное. Это дает: Человек мудрости приближает к трудному. Причинность: Заканчивает в отсутствии трудного."
