"Az ember csak szánt, vet, kapál, arat. Ganét hord, újra szánt, újra vet, újra meg újra. S egyszer csak észreveszi, hogy a hajában szürke szálak vannak, megszélesedett a homloka, szakálla szürke már s bajusza bozontos. Az ember csak észreveszi, hogy a csikóból csontos öreg ló lett, a gyermekek szakállt eresztettek és bajuszt. A bölcsőben síró leánykák férjhez mennek és új bölcsők ringanak.
