I have known love, the fragments of reality, desires and disappointments. I lived on the earth and slowly brightened. One day I will die: and how wonderfully right and simple that is! Could anything else, better, greater, have happened to me? It could not. I have lived the most and the greatest, the human destiny. Nothing else or better could have happened to me.

Utolsó leheletemmel is köszönöm a sorsnak, hogy ember voltam és az értelem egy szikrája világított az én homályos lelkemben is. Láttam a földet, az eget, az évszakokat. Megismertem a szerelmet, a valóság töredékeit, a vágyakat és a csalódásokat. A földön éltem és lassan felderültem. Egy napon meghalok: s ez is milyen csodálatosan rendjén való és egyszerű! Történhetett velem más, jobb, nagyszerűbb? Nem történhetett. Megéltem a legtöbbet és a legnagyszerűbbet, az emberi sorsot. Más és jobb nem is történhetett velem.

Cu ultima mea suflare, mulțumesc destinului că am fost om și că o scânteie de rațiune a strălucit în sufletul meu întunecat. Am văzut pământul, cerul, anotimpurile. Am cunoscut iubirea, fragmentele de realitate, dorințele și dezamăgirile. Am trăit pe pământ și m-am luminat încet. Într-o zi voi muri: și cât de minunat de corect și de simplu este acest lucru! Mi s-ar fi putut întâmpla altceva, mai bun, mai măreț? Nu se putea. Am trăit cel mai mult și cel mai mare, destinul uman. Nimic altceva sau mai bun nu mi s-ar fi putut întâmpla.
