There is a truth that everyone knows, but no one talks about, because not every truth can be spoken. There is a truth that everyone extols, but not wholeheartedly, because you can't trust every truth. What shall we say of the vows of lovers, of the threats of mothers, of the promises of drunkards, of the promises of potentates, of the last word of merchants? And so on to infinity!

Ce să spunem de jurămintele îndrăgostiților, de amenințările mamelor, de promisiunile bețivilor, de promisiunile potentaților, de ultimul cuvânt al negustorilor? Și tot așa la infinit!"
