Totul ține de ideal. Dacă vrea bogății, onoruri, glorie, plăceri, omul va chibzui cum să ia mai mult de la alții ca să aibă pentru sine, cum să cheltuiască și să dea altora mai puțin. Dacă vrea onoruri, va fi aprobator, lingușitor, supus celor la putere, va fi trufaș, se va delimita de oameni, îi va dispretui pe cei de care n-are nevoie pentru a avea succes. Dacă vrea glorie, va sacrifica totul, inclusiv viața altora și a sa, de dragul succesului. Dacă vrea plăcere, va născoci mijloace de sporire a plăcerilor, transformându-le și scornind altele și mai putemice. Dacă însă omul dorește iubirea față de toți oamenii, își va aminti atunci când e singur cu sine cum în viața trecută, ieri, azi, n-a respectat iubirea de oameni, cum a facut, spus, gandit ceva rău, neiubitor, se va gândi ce l-a împiedicat s-o facă, ce defecte, ispite, deprinderi și va chibzui cum să scape de ele."
