The love of God and the consciousness of God are like the gravity of the earth and the attraction of the earth to a greater center, and of that to an even greater center, and so ad infinitum. Love towards fellow humans, towards animals is also an attraction of objects subject to the universal law of gravitation. We know God like we know gravity. As we know gravity by its law, so we know God by His law, the law of love. The law of love of God is like the law of gravitation to the common center of gravity, and the law of attraction between separate material objects is like the law of love between separate living beings. Just as we do not know and cannot even imagine the common center of attraction, so we cannot know or imagine God. But just as this incomprehensible center undoubtedly exists, so also is the existence of God beyond doubt.

"Iubirea de Dumnezeu și conștiința de Dumnezeu sunt aidoma gravitației pământului și atragerii pământului către un centru mai mare, iar a aceluia către un centru și mai mare și așa la nesfârșit. Dragostea față de semeni, față de animale este tot o atracție a obiectelor supuse legii universale a gravitației. ÎI cunoaștem pe Dumnezeu la fel cum cunoaștem gravitația. Așa cum cunoaștem gravitația după legea ei, la fel îl cunoaștem și pe Dumnezeu după legea Lui, legea iubirii. Legea iubirii de Dumnezeu e asemenea legii gravitației față de centrul comun al gravitației, iar legea atracției dintre obiectele materiale separate e asemenea legii iubirii dintre ființele vii separate. Așa cum nu cunoaștem și nu ne putem nici măcar închipui centrul comun al atracției, la fel nu-l putem cunoaște și nu ni-l putem închipui pe Dumnezeu. Dar, așa cum acest centru de neînțeles există fără îndoială, la fel de neîndoielnică este și existența lui Dumnezeu."
