Iar globuri ca acesta sunt cu miile, cu milioanele. Și, iata, când înțelegi clar lucrul ăsta, ce ridicole sunt discuțiile despre măreția a ceva omenesc sau a omului însumi. Dintre ființele pe care le cunoaștem, da, omul e mai presus de toate, dar, așa cum sub om se afla o infinitate de ființe inferioare pe care le cunoaștem doar parțial, la fel și deasupra omului trebuie să existe o infinitate de ființe superioare, pe care n-avem de unde să le cunoaștem. Așa stând lucrurile, e ridicol să vorbim despre măreția omului. Tot ce ne putem dori de la oameni e să nu facă prostii. Da, numai asta."
