"Aceste fenomene, ceea ce numim adevărata arta (cântece, basme, fabule), toate sunt bune. Romanele au apărut pentru că bogații n-aveau ce face. Unii scriau, alții citeau aceste prostii și credeau (nu mă exclud nici pe mine) că se ocupă cu ceva de mare importanță. Nu pricep cum aceste idei ale mele ar putea să pară cuiva neclare.
