Nowadays, it is not customary to call young men beautiful (...). They are called desirable or mind-blowingly attractive, and many of them serve to praise. A prominent face or a neglected, slicked-back hairstyle and irregular features are enough. Nowadays, a young man is not called handsome. Or if they do, it's more like they're liberating themselves, as if they're extolling some bygone ideal that went out of fashion a long time ago. The really "hot" girls don't need Orpheus strumming his lute anymore, they need a pop singer with a husky voice, burning eyes and lots of shaggy hair.

Manapság nem szokás szépnek nevezni a fiatalembereket (...). Nevezik őket kívánatosnak, vagy észveszejtően vonzónak, és sokan közülük rá is szolgálnak a dicséretre. Elég egy markáns arcél vagy egy elhanyagolt, csapzott frizura és szabálytalan vonások. Manapság egy fiatalemberre nem mondják azt, hogy szép. Vagy ha mégis, akkor inkább csak szabadkozva, mintha valami letűnt ideált magasztalnának, amely régen kiment a divatból. Az igazán "dögös" lányoknak ma már nem kell a lantját pengető Orpheusz, nekik ma már inkább egy popénekes kell rekedt hanggal, égő szemmel és rengeteg bozontos hajjal.
