A párkapcsolatban az önátadás éppolyan erős, mint az önvédelem: egy házasság konfliktusokkal teli. De ezt a drámát - mint minden ellentétet a világon - csakis egy harmadik helyről lehet megoldani. Ez a harmadik hely: felülről. Ha nem tudok ránézni a feleségemre nemcsak úgy, hogy "nőm", hanem az embertársam is, nem lesz valódi kapcsolatunk. Valójában csak itt ezen az embersíkon lehet vele megbeszélni mindent. Itt lehet begyógyítani azokat a sebesüléseit, amit férfiként okoztam benne, vagy amit ő karmolt belém. Itt tudom megérteni őt.
