La fel cum Dumnezeu nu depinde de faptul că se crede în el, știința și arta nu sunt afectate de faptul că se are grijă de ele. Casa științei și a artei nu este existența, "esse" , ci posibilitatea, "posse" , iar dacă aceasta se manifestă în existență, existența se îmbogățește; este o umilință infinită din partea științei și a artei să își permită să se manifeste în existență, deoarece toate formele sale sunt handicapate. Și dacă știința și arta dispar din destinul uman: nu este distrugerea lor, ci a manifestărilor lor handicapate și a stăpânului acestor manifestări, omul.
