Tired of living? Yes, one day you will feel you have taken on too great a task when you were born to be human on this earth. There was too much opposition, too much unpredictability, too much hostility, too much meanness, too much hopelessness, too much task, too much suffering, too much disappointment. But don't you think, don't you feel, that it was this hopelessness, this " too", this "much" that gave your life meaning and dignity? Don't you feel that you had a task, a personal task? Don't you feel that nature, which so senselessly exaggerates and wastes, has honored you by creating you as a human being and by imposing your task on earth on a human scale? What can you be but weary? That was your job: to live and be exhausted.

Fáradt vagy élni? Igen, egy napon úgy érzed, túlságos feladatra vállalkoztál, mikor embernek születtél e földre. Túl sok volt az ellenállás, a kiszámíthatatlan, az ellenséges, az aljas, a reménytelen, túl sok volt a feladat, túl sok a szenvedés, a csalódás. De nem gondolod-e, nem érzed-e, hogy éppen ez a reménytelenség, ez a „túl", ez a „sok" adott rangot és értelmet életednek? Nem érzed-e, hogy feladatod volt, személyes dolgod? Nem érzed-e, hogy a természet, mely olyan esztelenül túloz és pazarol, megtisztelt azzal, hogy embernek alkotott és emberi mértékben szabta ki feladatod a földön? Mi lehetsz más, mint fáradt? Ez volt a dolgod: hogy élj és elfáradjál.

Te-ai obosit de viață? Da, într-o zi veți simți că v-ați asumat o sarcină prea mare atunci când v-ați născut om pe acest pământ. A fost prea multă opoziție, prea multă imprevizibilitate, prea multă ostilitate, prea multă răutate, prea multă lipsă de speranță, prea multă sarcină, prea multă suferință, prea multă dezamăgire. Dar nu crezi, nu simți că tocmai această lipsă de speranță, acest „prea”, acest „mult” au dat sens și demnitate vieții tale? Nu simțiți că ai avut o sarcină, o sarcină personală? Nu simți că natura, care exagerează și risipește atât de fără sens, te-a onorat creându-te ca ființă umană și impunându-ți sarcina pe pământ la scară umană? Ce poți fi altceva decât obosit? Aceasta a fost sarcina ta: să trăiești și să obosești.
