Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a work plan. Just don't artificially set this plan. Someday, out of anticipation, study, inclination, the order of ordinary days, and the suggestion of extraordinary moments, this work plan will emerge. Never give in to tempting ideas. Természetesen nem árt, ha van bizonyos munkaterved. Csak ne határozd el mesterségesen ezt a tervet. Egy napon a várakozásból, tanulmányokból, hajlamokból, a köznapok rendjéből és a rendkívüli pillanatok sugallatából kialakul ez a munkaterv. Ne engedj soha csábító ötleteknek. Az ötlet megvillan, s bizonyos képességek birtokában csakugyan építhetsz belőle valamit, aminek formája van, ami olyan, mintha igazi alkotás lenne. De ötlet marad, akkor is, ha tökéletesen kivitelezed. Az igazi munka, a személyes és végzetes, más. Meg kell várni, amíg minden beérik és elkövetkezik, hogy csakugyan azt írjad, vagy cselekedjed, ami a dolgod. Ilyenkor maradj könyörtelen és következetes önmagaddal és munkáddal szemben. De minden szellemi alkotó munkának legfőbb feltétele az a lelki és idegállapot, melyet Goethe Schauder-nek * nevezett.
