A szimbolikus képzelet számára mindenkor rendkívül fontosak voltak a geometriai formák és számszerű arányok. Nem volt ez idegen a teoretikus gondolkodástól sem. Azt is mondhatnánk, hogy a filozófiai és matematikai gondolkodásnak is van egy mitikus dimenziója. Nemcsak a filozófiai, hanem a matematikai gondolkodás mélyrétegeiben is ott van, vagy ott lehet az a vágy, hogy a mindennapi élet rendezetlensége alatt felfedezze az univerzum láthatatlan, de lényegbeli rendjét és rendezettségét.
