Scopul principal al civilizației actuale e scăderea volumului de muncă si creșterea plăcerilor trândăviei (civilizația iudaică: inactivitatea este o condiție a raiului), în timp ce principalul bine al omului în plan material ar trebui să facă astfel încât munca să devină mai plăcută. În cadrul actualei civilizații, omul și bucuriile lui sunt jertfite profitului. Aburul în locul calului, semanatoarea în locul mâinii, bicicleta, motorul în locul picioarelor s.a.m.d.
