Atitudinea fata de vorbele mele ar putea fi de indiferență, dacă aș spune ceva născocit de mine, ceva ce se poate sau nu întâmpla, dar acea pieire de care vorbesc nu poate să nu se întâmple, se va întâmpla negreșit. Ați putea sta pe gânduri, ați putea să urmați sau nu îndemnul meu, dacă pentru asta ar trebui să faceți ceva periculos, greu, rușinos, umilitor, în contradicție cu natura umană; dar, dimpotriva, ce va îndemn eu sa faceti e lipsit de primejdii, ușor, nobil, și corespunde conștiinței demnitatii si naturii umane.
