Am simțit azi, în timp ce constatam cu durere că am conștiința slăbiciunii mele, nemernicia grijii pentru gloria lumească. Am simțit pregnant importanța muncii mele dinainte, în minutele ei bune. Aveam la ce să mă întorc. Da, asta e adevărata rugăciune. Să Iași o urmă, să bătătorești o cărare a celor mai bune gânduri, a tot ce e mai bun, mai înalt, accesibil mie în minutele cele mai bune ale înțelegerii vieții! Apoi, în minutele mai puțin bune, să mă adăpostesc sub aceasta înțelegere. Azi am înțeles asta cu toată limpezimea.
