Cea mai evidentă, benefică și rațională activitate, plină de abnegație pentru binele oamenilor, nu doar revoluționară, ci de răspândire a adevărului religios pe care îl considerăm neîndoielnic, poate fi nu doar zadarnică, ci și dăunătoare, dacă nu contrară, cel puțin în dezacord cu voia Lui. (Nepătrunse sunt căile Domnului.) Înfrânarea de la faptele cele mai mărunte, în cel mai restrâns cerc, poate fi tocmai ce vrea El și lucrul cel mai important pentru ce vrea El în sinea Lui și în sufletul meu.
