Sărbătorirea e semn rău pentru mine. Sărbătorirea lui Mecinikov * mi-a dat de gândit. Amândoi suntem, evident, oameni găunoși dacă am făcut în asemenea măsură pe plac mulțimii. Mă consolează numai faptul că pe mine mă critică nu invidioșii, ci mă critică serios și revoluționarii, și fețele bisericești, clericii.
