I feel bad living because life is bad. Life is bad because we humans live bad. If we humans lived well, life would be good, and I wouldn't live badly. I am just a man among men. And even if I can't force everyone to live well, I can do it for myself, and so I can make people's lives and mine at least a little better. The confirmation of the correctness of this reasoning is that, if everyone adopted it, then for me and for the rest of the people, life would be good.

Mi-e rău trăind pentru că viața e rea. Viața e rea pentru că noi, oamenii, trăim rău. Dacă noi, oamenii, am trăi bine, viața ar fi bună, iar eu n-aș trăi rău. Eu sunt doar un om printre oameni. Și chiar dacă nu pot să-i oblig pe toți să trăiască bine, pot să fac asta pentru mine, iar astfel pot face ca viața oamenilor și a mea să fie măcar puțin mai bună. Confirmarea corectitudinii acestui raționament e că, dacă toți și l-ar însuși, atunci pentru mine și pentru restul oamenilor viața ar fi bună.
