Az emberek ezt tartják a legtöbbre: a hiúságukat. Az minden másnál erősebb. Ha egyszer megsértették őket, már nemcsak arról az egy sérelemről van szó, hanem magáról a Sértésről: mindig más a hibás, és mindig nekik van igazuk. És noha nem gonoszok (...), inkább végignézik ölbe tett kézzel a másik ember lassú pusztulását a közelükben, mintsem beismernék, hogy esetleg ők tévedtek.
