Khiến dân trở lại thắt nút mà dùng. Ăn cho là ngon, mặc cho là đẹp, ở cho là yên, sống cho là sướng. Nước gần, thấy nhau, gà kêu chó cắn đều nghe, dân đến già chết chẳng lui tới nhau."

"Nước ta bé nhỏ, dân thưa, Lơ thơ tôi giỏi, ta chưa hề dùng. Dạy dân sợ chết làm lòng, Cho nên chẳng dám vẫy vùng phiêu lưu. Xe kia, thuyền nọ đìu hiu, Nào ai muốn lái, muốn chèo mà chi. Binh kia giáp nọ ủ ê, Chẳng hề dở dói đem khoe, đem bày. Dạy dân trở lại thắt dây, Sống đời thuần phác, tháng ngày tiêu dao. Ăn thường vẫn tưởng thanh cao, Mặc thường, vẫn tưởng bảnh bao chững chàng. Ở thường, mà vẫn tưởng sang, Sống thường, vẫn tưởng đàng hoàng, đẹp tươi. Lân bang nào cách mấy mươi, Gà kêu, chó sủa đôi nơi rõ ràng. Tuy rằng gần gũi tấc gang, Suốt đời dân chúng nào màng tới lui."
