The Earth is the purgatory of lies; here everything around us is a lie: the fake-ness of space, the fake-ness of things, the fake-ness of ourselves. And in the human brain even truth dances: at once everything is true, and at once nothing is true. The only way out of the flood of lies is precisely the one that seems to be the most truthful: imagination. In the midst of all this fake reality, it is up to your imagination to restore the true reality.
It is not the mountain and not the valley that is real, but the beauty which your imagination enjoys in the forms of the mountains and valleys; and from the pseudo-endlessness of the phenomenal world, the way leads through your imagination to the true infinity within you.
Imagination is one thing and fancy another, as speech is another and chatter another. Imagination works according to the law of life and feeds the hungry desires with mist; imagination works according to the law of being and what it creates, work of art, deed, thought: real and true.
On earth, all that comes into being and passes away is called reality; only imagination seems to draw its creatures out of nothing. The pseudo-nothing from which imagination draws is reality; and in the many separate pseudo-realities that exist, only what in them seems to be nothing, imagination, is real: their imperceptible, common essence, the unchanging existence behind their changing manifestations.

A Föld a hazugság tisztítótüze; itt minden hazug körülöttünk: a tér ál-végtelenje, a dolgok ál-valósága, önmagunk ál-sokasága. S az ember-agyban még az igazság is táncol: egyszerre minden igaz, és egyszerre semmi sem igaz. A hazugság-áradatból az egyetlen kivezető út éppen az, amely a leghazugabbnak látszik: a képzelet. A sok ál-valóság közt képzeletedre van bízva az igazi valóság helyreállítása.
Nem a hegy és nem a völgy a valódi, hanem a szépség, melyet képzeleted a hegyek-völgyek formáin élvez; és a jelenség világ ál-végtelenjéből képzeleteden át vezet az út a benned rejlő igazi végtelenbe.
Más a képzelet és más a képzelődés, ahogy más a beszéd és más a fecsegés. A képzelődés az élet törvénye szerint működik és az éhen maradt vágyakat köddel eteti; a képzelet a lét törvénye szerint működik és amit megteremt, műalkotás, tettet, gondolatot: valódi és igaz.
A Földön mindaz, ami keletkezik és elmúlik, valóságnak neveztetik; csak éppen a képzelet tűnik olyannak, mintha teremtményeit a semmiből húzkodná elő. Az ál-semmi, ahonnét a képzelet merít: a valóság; s a sok külön-lévő ál-valóságban csak az a valódi, ami bennük semminek, képzeletnek rémlik: érzékelhetetlen, közös lényegük, a változó megnyilvánulások mögötti változatlan létezés.

Pământul este purgatoriul minciunilor; aici totul în jurul nostru este o minciună: falsitatea spațiului, falsitatea lucrurilor, falsitatea noastră. Iar în creierul uman chiar și adevărul dansează: în același timp totul este adevărat și în același timp nimic nu este adevărat. Singura cale de ieșire din potopul de minciuni este tocmai cea care pare să fie cea mai veridică: imaginația. În mijlocul acestei realități false, depinde de imaginația dumneavoastră să restabiliți adevărata realitate.
Nu muntele și nu valea sunt reale, ci frumusețea de care imaginația ta se bucură în formele munților și ale văilor; iar de la pseudoinfinitul lumii fenomenale, drumul duce prin imaginația ta la adevăratul infinit din tine.
Imaginația este una și fantezia alta, așa cum vorbirea este alta și trăncăneala alta. Imaginația funcționează conform legii vieții și hrănește dorințele înfometate cu ceață; imaginația funcționează conform legii ființei și ceea ce creează, operă de artă, faptă, gând: real și adevărat.
Pe pământ, tot ceea ce apare și dispare se numește realitate; doar imaginația pare să-și extragă creaturile din nimic. Pseudo-nimicul din care se trage imaginația este realitatea; iar în numeroasele pseudo-realități separate care există, numai ceea ce în ele pare a fi nimic, imaginația, este real: esența lor imperceptibilă, comună, existența neschimbătoare din spatele manifestărilor lor schimbătoare.
