The potential to create is within man and his means, but artistic creation is a superhuman miracle.
What makes beautiful works of art beautiful, we search in vain among the facts of the phenomenal world. Masterpieces may be simple, complex, ordered, personal, perfect, primitive; so too are works of contemplation. It is only that the masterpiece has that wonderful elasticity which is lacking in the contemporaneous work and which cannot be deduced from the circumstances of the phenomenal world.
In the masterpiece, through the imagination of the creator and the artist, the timeless is transcended into the temporal world.

Az alkotás lehetősége megvan az emberben és eszközeiben, de a művészi alkotás emberfölötti csoda.
Azt, ami a szép műveket széppé teszi, a jelenség-világ tényei közt hiába keressük. A remekművek lehetnek egyszerűek, bonyolultak, rendezettek, személyesek, tökéletesek, kezdetlegesek; éppígy a kontár művek is. Csak épp a remekműben meg van az a csodálatos delejesség, mely a kontár műből hiányzik, s amelyet a jelenségvilág körülményeiből nem lehet levezetni.
A remekműben, az alkotó és műélvező képzelet közvetítésével, az időtlenen dereng át az időbeli világba.

Potențialul de a crea este la îndemâna omului și a mijloacelor sale, însă creația artistică este un miracol supraomenesc.
Ce face ca operele de artă frumoase să fie frumoase, căutăm în zadar printre faptele lumii fenomenale. Capodoperele pot fi simple, complexe, ordonate, personale, perfecte, primitive; la fel sunt și operele de contemplare. Numai că capodopera are acea elasticitate minunată care lipsește operei contemporane și care nu poate fi dedusă din circumstanțele lumii fenomenale.
În capodoperă, prin imaginația creatorului și a artistului, atemporalul este transcendent în lumea temporală.
