He who begins to dismantle his individuality loses more and more the boundary between his own soul and the souls of others. When he looks into the eyes of his fellow man, he senses his feelings and recognises: 'this is me'; when he strokes a dog, he senses its world merging into one: 'this is me'; when he touches a piece of furniture for a long time, he takes in its indivisible silence: 'this is me'. His own soul is no longer his own, and the soul of everything is his own; everything is transparent, as if it were made of crystal; at once immensely rich, his body and soul are refreshed and filled with the same joy of work, rest, company, solitude.

Ha embertársa szemébe néz, megérzi annak érzéseit és felismeri: „ez is én vagyok”; ha egy kutyát megsimogat, megérzi annak egybemosódó világát: „ez is én vagyok”; ha egy bútort hosszabban érint, átveszi annak tagolatlan csöndjét: „ez is én vagyok”. Saját lelke már nem csak az övé s mindennek lelke az övé; minden átlátszó, mintha kristályból volna; egyszerre mérhetetlenül gazdag, teste-lelke felfrissül és egyforma örömmel tölti el a munka, pihenés, társaság, magány.

Cel care începe să-și dezmembreze individualitatea pierde din ce în ce mai mult granița dintre sufletul său și sufletele celorlalți. Când se uită în ochii semenilor săi, îi simte sentimentele și recunoaște: "acesta sunt eu"; când mângâie un câine, simte cum lumea lui se contopește într-una singură: "acesta sunt eu"; când atinge îndelung o piesă de mobilier, îi asimilează tăcerea indivizibilă: "acesta sunt eu". Sufletul său nu mai este al său, iar sufletul tuturor lucrurilor este al său; totul este transparent, ca și cum ar fi făcut din cristal; în același timp imens de bogat, trupul și sufletul său sunt împrospătate și pline de aceeași bucurie a muncii, a odihnei, a companiei, a singurătății.
