I discovered that the stars are not permanent. They melt. I saw with my own eyes that one or another of the most beautiful ones melted and fell from the sky. (...) That's why I want to keep vigil every night to watch and guard as long as I can stay awake. At least this way I can remember the bright sky field. If they disappear one day, I can at least imagine the myriads of magnificent stars in the sky, make them shine again and see them twice in the dazzle of my tears.

Megállapítottam, hogy a csillagok nem állandóak. Elolvadnak. Saját szememmel láttam, hogy éppen a legszebbek közül egyik-másik elolvadt, és lefutott az égről. (...) Ezért minden éjjel virrasztani szeretnék, hogy nézzem és őrizzem, amíg csak ébren tudok maradni. Így legalább emlékezetembe vésem a ragyogó égi mezőt. Ha majd egyszer eltűnnek, akkor legalább gondolatban vissza tudom képzelni az égre a pompás csillagok miriádjait, újra felragyogtatom és könnyeim káprázatában duplán látom őket.
