More intelligent and at the same time more ignorant. He thinks he controls the universe with the push of a button. This vast structure, civilization, has banished man from the great, secret, intimate community of the world.

Ötezer éve, tízezer éve nem változott az emberi anyag. Csak a jelmezek változtak, az együttélés rendszerei és feltételei. Az, ami az ember – a lélek és a jellem –, nem változott. Ur városában, Babilonban ugyanazok az emberek éltek, mint ma Budapesten: s lelkükben ugyanúgy érzékelték a világot és pontosan úgy feleltek a világra. Az emberi anyag nem változott, de az ember – hála néhány lángésznek és műszernek – vakabb és süketebb a civilizációban, mint volt az emberi idők elején. Tunyább és bambább. Értesültebb és ugyanakkor tudatlanabb. Azt hiszi, gombnyomásra igazgatja a világegyetemet. Ez az óriási szerkezet, a civilizáció, száműzte az embert a világ nagy, titkos, bensőséges közösségéből.

Această vastă structură, civilizația, l-a alungat pe om din marea, secreta și intima comunitate a lumii.
